Below is a collection of processes and ideas which were evolving aspects and elements of the design which were used in the final.
As seen from these drawings and written notes the idea of lighting the interiors has played a very influencial role in the way in which spaces are formed. The light shaft which is clearly seen in all my developments was used as a logical design tool for the site to enable a variety of lighting which is needed.
The reason as to why the lighting shaft became such an important element in this building was that through the incorporation of the shaft with another material such as 'mesh' a diffused light could be controlled and arranged to enhance the architect tonics of the design.
The progression of arrangements which is seen in the spaces and the interior elements and the courtyard has changed dramatically from the early concepts right through until the final project design. It is important to note that the arrangement of the interior spaces and to some extent the exterior alters the ways in which occupants interact with the artworks and the space and can affect the impression that the building has in conjunction with its architectonics.
The design also took on a fairly rectilinear arrangement for easy arrnagment of works and circulation through the cuilding in a logical sense. The light shafts assist in this mannor of directing the person through the forms of the building.
